AppLovin Ads Setup Service for Ecommerce Brands

Our AppLovin Ads setup service handles account creation, tracking, catalog and approval steps so your first dollar of spend lands on clean data. We configure the account, Pixel or Shopify app, catalog, creative sets and goals before spend, built for scale from day one rather than retrofitted later. Landing pages, ad copy and product feeds are reviewed before submission.

How our AppLovin Ads setup service works

We work through the launch requirements in this order.

  1. Account and billing. Create the AppLovin Ads account and add a payment card; new accounts use prepay. Add a backup card and 2FA, then invite WKND with the needed access level.
  2. Conversion tracking. Shopify brands connect the official AppLovin app; other sites install the AppLovin Pixel through Google Tag Manager.
  3. Event validation. We validate required ecommerce events, purchase value, item data, transaction IDs, AppLovin click parameters and server-event deduplication.
  4. Purchase history. We connect Shopify or upload all available order history in Events Manager, so Prospecting and Discovery can find new customers.
  5. Catalog. For Dynamic Catalog, we connect Shopify, build the catalog from Pixel data or set up a daily CSV feed, and match item and variant IDs, pricing, availability, images and product URLs. Smaller assortments can use an Offering Catalog.
  6. Creative sets. Each Creative Set needs at least one 9:16 video and one Interactive Page.
  7. Goal. We choose ROAS for revenue, CPP for purchases or CPL for lead generation, and set the target from contribution margin and CAC.
  8. Review before submission. We confirm ads, claims, products, privacy disclosures and destinations can pass AppLovin review.

What a bare-bones setup misses

When you compare setup offers, check whether event validation and approval review are included. Missing purchase values, broken click parameters, duplicate events, or an unrealistic return goal do not simply weaken reporting; they give the optimizer poorer feedback. And when an asset is rejected or the pixel misfires, the queue is long and the account keeps spending while you wait.

AppLovin Ads setup FAQs

Do I need a referral code to set up AppLovin Ads?

AppLovin Ads is now open to all advertisers, so a referral code is no longer required. You still must create an account and pass AppLovin's advertiser verification and policy review.

What does an AppLovin account need before launch?

Before launch, an Axon account needs approved advertiser access, a valid payment method, verified purchase tracking, a working product or offering catalog, direct landing URLs, and enough portrait video plus interactive or image creative to form complete creative sets.

Can we use the Shopify app instead of the Pixel?

Shopify brands can connect the official app; other sites can install AppLovin Pixel through Google Tag Manager. Either route still needs the same event validation before spend.

What budget should we launch with?

AppLovin Ads allows advertisers to get started with as little as $10 per day. WKND is built for ecommerce brands prepared to invest at least $500 per day while developing the platform into a meaningful acquisition channel. The $500 figure is WKND's qualification threshold, not an AppLovin platform minimum or a performance guarantee. WKND's ideal client already runs $10k+/day in paid spend with positive unit economics.

Can an agency set up and manage our AppLovin account?

Yes. An agency can manage AppLovin Ads when the account owner or administrator grants the correct access level and expiration date. WKND can oversee account setup, Pixel and catalog validation, campaign goals, creative testing, budget pacing, reporting, and incrementality planning while the brand retains ownership and billing control.

Who wins on AppLovin Axon Ads (and who doesn't)

AppLovin Axon Ads isn't for everyone. Here's how to know if it's for you.

Brands that win

  • Proven product-market fit with an existing customer base
  • Prior paid scale of $10k+/day with positive unit economics
  • Strong creative volume and production capacity
  • Willingness to move fast, test aggressively, and iterate
  • Clear attribution model and realistic ROAS expectations

Not a fit (right now)

  • Still validating product-market fit or finding your audience
  • Limited creative resources or slow production cycles
  • Smaller budgets that require immediate ROI to survive
  • Brands with low product quality or negative reviews
  • Looking for a "set it and forget it" advertising solution

Platform ROAS vs blended MER

Blended MER is total revenue divided by total ad spend across every channel. AppLovin reports that 80% of web conversions happen within 24 hours of the click, which makes the platform number fast.

Treat platform ROAS as the engine's scorecard for its own optimization, and judge the channel on blended and incremental results. Our position is that no channel earns scaled budget on its own reporting, Axon included, and the brands that have scaled on Axon are the ones that tested first.
